One of the other Minnesotans on the board rides a Pugsley (I think) that he converted to a drop bar. Also, on a ride earlier this year, I saw a guy with either a fatty or a 29er+ and some aero extension bars - that looked like good, dumb fun, too.

That said, I'm thinking that flat bar may be the way for me to go - braking and shifting is separate ("brifters" are expensive and not always easy to operate with bulky gloves) and I could get some of those bar mitt thingies to keep the hands toasty (my new gloves are certainly a step up, but I don't know if they'll cut it at lower temps).
