Indeed. Love longer rides. My few friends that I ride with like 50-70 so I have been riding to/from start for bonus miles. If weather would stay warm I might even consider a double-metric but likely will wait for next year.
I try to do enough > 3 hr stuff to keep the fat catabolism and gluconeogenesis systems induced and because it’s fun, but my feeling is, especially at my age, long distances at a survivable pace are just training me to ride slow.
