So peformance is having a sale on clipless and shoes so i decided to take advantage of it. however, im quite ignorant on the whole thing. I understand WHY one needs clipless, but i dont know what to get. I saw some shoes by shimano for 74 dollars. model M120 or something like that. It had some rubber sticking out of the sole to allow grip while walking. how is this in compraison to the shoes that are just purely flat and hard on the bottom and shiney? what are the advantages and disadvantages of these shoes?

also what should one look for while buying a clipless pedal? should i get the same brand as the shoe? what do i need to know? thanks so much!
