This is not the pre-boom American Eagle brand. The subject bicycle is an entry level ATB. The frame is TIG welded and almost certainly hi-tensile steel based on what appear to be stamped dropouts and the small diameter, steel, seat post. The derailleurs are bottom of the line Shimano Tourney on an 18 speed, Hyperglide compatible drivetrain. The crankset is a swaged and plastic covered unit from Sakae with steel; riveted chainrings, so it's almost certainly steel crankarms underneath the covers. I can't identify the brakes from the picture but they're wider profile cantilevers. On the plus side, the rims are aluminum with aluminum hubs, though only the front has a quick release, while the rear has a nutted axle. Ripped saddle. Definitely entry level, at or near the bottom of the barrel and probably well into the 1990s.
