I would love to be car-free again - that was one of the things that I really loved about living in Brooklyn, but I think that we'll have to settle for car-lite. If we should move in to the development that we have our eye on, we'd be very car-lite, with most day-to-day amenities and quite a bit of recreation within a short walk. At that point, something like ZipCar might be viable again, but the car is paid off, so it might not make sense until maintenance becomes an issue.
