That's good to know. I was considering ordering the Maxxis Rambler tires in 700x45. Are there other recommended tires in 700x45? Then again the GR1s seem to work well on gravel and dirt trails.
As I noted above, I installed these Schwalbe 45mm tires on my 8.5 several years ago:

I've ridden on pavement, dirt, and crushed limestone with them, without a single problem. Can't compare to these or any Maxxis as I've never tried them.
