My Gary Hale was originally equiped with a full Galli/Maillard groupo -- Galli brakes, crank, and derailleurs; Maillard hubs, 7-spd freewheel, and pedals; Galli-labeled Stronglight roller-bearing headset.
The left crankarm broke. The rear derailleur eventually was worn till it was sloppy (and I need wider gearing than it would allow, anyway, as an old guy in a hilly area). The rear axle was subject to breaking, and it has a unique thread, so I gave up in that a long time ago. The pedals are fine, but I converted to SPD. I still ride this bike and it still has the Galli brakes and front hub. The headset is hardly worn at all. And of course the Superbe seatpost is still going strong.
Sorry for the photo that does not show the components well, but this the only photo I have of the bike with original parts.
