Are you about 5'10" with an 80-81 cm inseam? That's what I am. I went for a fit at the shop today and they decided a 54 with 120 was very good. So I ordered it. If I don't like, I can always sell it, right?

The trend is to go with the smaller bike with a longer stem and much more saddle to bar drop...but that doesn't mean that fits you properly. If your 56 is comfortable to ride then no reason to not get another 56. If you feel the 56 is limiting your ability to get a lower bar position then the 54 might be the better answer.

I too have been looking at C'Dales for my next bike (later this year) and have decided to go with a 54...but again that is me not you.

Photos of my 56 Salsa and 54 Roubaix. Same saddle height, same setback, same reach, bar drop is pretty close to the same.
