Yeah - the tektro's on my Le Champ were pretty bad. But on my Moto Messenger they're ok.

On the warranty for the wheels - I don't know. You'd have to try it and see. No need to jump to conclusions at this point. Seriously, give 'em a chance before you become concerned about it - both Bikesdirect and the wheels.
