People get way too worked up about this. I think it's just they can try to sound more knowledgeable than the guy w/ the can of WD40. It's fine. It's oil and solvent...which is what pretty much all chain lubes are. Some are better, for sure. It's a chain. For the OP's use it's totally fine, basically what it was formulated for. Some oil is generally considered better than none...or none + rust.
