Might depend on chainring spread in teeth.
as the Nuovo Record swings in, it swings up.
the very late super Record with the silk screened branding ( black background)
will have an easier time.

Campagnolo also made C Record retrofriction shifters with a bigger take up sheave- less overall shifter travel.
