A little dab of lapping compound works for this. Just enough grit to hold the nut from turning. I think I saw that suggestion on this forum some years ago, and I have some in the sharpening kit that came with my lawnmower so I gave it a try, and it works.
Yep, that's a tip I got many decades ago from a mechanic to increase the "grip" or purchase of screwdriver tips on partly mangled screws (Phillips especially). If you don't have the lapping compound just some dry silicon carbide or carborundum powder does it too.
