Just added fenders to my takara for some winter riding. I store it horizontally so I had to saw off about 3-4” of the rear fender so it would fit on the stand without getting in the way.
I did that to the rear fender on one of my commuting bikes years ago. Just to keep my coworkers from drafting off me.
