I'm a supporter of animal rights to some degree. Perhaps to the same degree as I support the rights of trees. I love dogs (although I'm not willing to volunteer my cat to any dog). But there is simply no reason why I should have to put up with any dog defending it's territory when the highway is not it's territory. This isn't about the animal so much as it is about the animals owner...but, if push comes to shove it will be the animal (and probably myself) that suffers.

How does that line go? Something about being at the top of the food chain?
