Dredging this thread up....

This frame has found it's way into my garage and I'm wondering about the date. The components suggest 76, but every other example I see has the block font and metal round head badge. This one has script font and a sticker head badge similar to the one on the Team Champion model. Maybe they ran out of head badges that day so it got a sticker? Font seems to be from earlier years. Possibly meaningless serial # is 1861369.
