I’m very interested.

When I rode the Lotus Eclair with this group installed, the downtube shifters only had a friction setting. They worked fine this way, however I would think that if you were to install index shifters that the rear derailleur would follow them. What model shifters do you have in mind?

I’ve no idea if a pedal adapter would move out the crank q-factor, it would just depend on the adapter and the pedals.... though I would think it might.
