I agree, probably not going to work the best with indexed shifting. One thing that is really cool about these Deore rear derailleurs, the cable anchor is mounted on this little bridge that works to auto-trim the derailleur. I also have a Lotus Eclair with the same group. It's an excellent shifting group.
