I Knew it was a weird bike! A Reject at THAT!

Thank you so much,

No wonder I couldn't figure it out on what model it was as it never existed as a true to form Masi! The Masi that never was! A nomad Masi of bitter dreams and managemental decisions to reject rather than embrace, a true "Bastard of a Bicycle" tucked away far from the consuming crowd of eager worshipers of the House of Masi.

Although born of the brand of Masi, and branded as such, she was rejected as a bastard to not be detailed or graced with high-end components, rather to be stripped of her decals and sent off to the work houses of mundane duties, perhaps as a postal delivery bicycle in some provincial burg on the outskirts of pleasant society, only to be retired to the wood shed to spend her time as a habitat to Mud Wasps and Black-Widow Spiders.

I thought she was off, really I did, the mid-level groupings did indicate a certain degree of economy, yet the embossed "M" s gave away the roots of greatness that could not be erased but neither not wanted, much like a "Scarlet Letter A" upon the blouse of a fallen damsel in distress, thus I now have my vision!

A reject she was born than a reject she shall be, restored in all her englamours trappings, all current components will be maintained or replaced with kind, and no high end parts or false decals placed upon her painted steel skin, will she ever know, rather her status as being a reject, unwanted by Masi himself, a true Bastard of a Bicycle restored not to remind us of her decline in status, but to revel in her history of being below the salt in the House of Masi!

Yes she has a fine frame at that and the paint original to the plan of production as a Nuova Strada that she was denied to be, but now the light of day, the spin of her cranks, and the sound of asphalt beneath her wheels, she will know once more, for my vision is to build the "Bastard Bicycle of Masi" as her unique contribution as something from nothing, a place for all steel frame bicycles, regardless of their status as less than, but still a member of the history of a brand of bicycle that is the pinnacle of Italian vintage craftsmanship.

Cheers to you all, and thank you for the assistance in the identification.

I go now into the garage my vision realized, and begin my restoration of the Masi that never was!
