The thing you don't automatically get with the triplizer, however, is the smaller big ring, which I believe is important to getting this to shift well with an NR front derailleur. Also, if you want to use an unmodified NR rear derailleur, the 49-42-36 is approaching the limits of the rear mech, depending on the freewheel. Again, that gets back to how period correct you care to be.
Honestly, I wouldn't spend money on a campy triple. I'm getting to rebuild a 1971 Witcomb I picked up which is all campy NR. I'm going to swap that crank for a stronglight 99 and run it as a compact double. If I were going to set it up with at triple, I prefer the gear ratios you get with an 86 bcd crank, a TA copy, or a 110/74 bcd crank.
