I try to make noise as I approach people on the path, (gotta put my bell on my bike), but I worry people dont know right and left. I've had people move left as I announce "passing on your left".
Don't ever say left, half the time all they hear is left. I had two women change sides. If all looks good, predictable I pass unannounced otherwise "heads up" or "passing" will suffice.
