The Grouch pretty much covered what you'll need but be aware that Shimano MTB shifters will work w/ road rear derailleurs but not fronts; different length control arms.

Also, don't get hung up on claims of incompatiblity of flat-bar brake levers w/ road calipers; I do these conversions all the time and have yet to find a real issue.
