Here's one that might be a bit of a stretch but hey I'm bored at work without much to do - your NDS picture of it in the water thread makes it look like the bolts that hold your littlest chainring on are about the same distance from the BB as the downtube coupler. Any chance one of them backed out and is touching the clamp on every rotation?
