odd serial number

I don't think there's any reason to doubt it's a PX10 (except maybe the good lugwork - but the serial number on the bike remains off from other PX10's of the late 1960's, even though the rest of the details match up.

I have heard that in the mid-60s Peugeot may have restarted their serial numbers, could this possibly explain the odd number?
