First time poster here, I figured after hours of scouring the internet now is my time to resort to posting on a forum!

I'm wanting to raise the handlebars past the max height of the current stem on my Raleigh Courier. The stem diameter is 1 inch, all I can find online are 1 1/8 inch raisers! Would it be smarter of me to just replace the stem all together with a longer one, or am I completely missing something here?

I'm riding it quite a bit past the max height already which I've been told is dangerous, so I'd rather make sure it's all safe!
