Did have that effect when I was younger on the MTB, probably still would but since I now ride with my kids and not other adults exclusively I haven't in a while. The numbing effects for me always meant I could ride longer and I have less inhibitions for technical riding. Also once rode completely lit from Amsterdam to Paris, other then getting lost a bit here or there I had no problem riding all day and enjoyed myself.
