It's not that big a deal. I drilled my old S Tarmac and a Roubaix with a 1/4" drill for DI2.
I'm contemplating full internal Di2 for my old school TCR... drilling a couple of holes in the steerer and one in the bars, bottom of seat tube and out the back of the chainstay, and shaving the gear cable stops...
I reckon it's all probably cool, except the hole in the bars is making me nervous. I'm married to the Aeronova shape, might have to cough up for the proper ones to butcher instead of the $40 Chinesium...
