My experience is different. I've got both off-the-rack and team (custom) Castelli gear, and it has all held up very well.
It depends which facility does the manufacturing. From what I hear, Castelli has few manufacturing facilities, and the quality and fit varies across them. And from year to year, your custom stuff can come from a different facility.
