I meant the length; the horizontal bit between the stem and the handlebar. Our old mountain bikes have very long top tubes, making the reach -- problematic for most of us. Add a drop bar and you need gorilla arms to comfortably ride the bike. I have a 60 mm stem with a swept bar to compensate.
