That is to educate and inform you so that you have a better idea what you want/need in a touring bike. Which ever bike you choose, you will learn about the bike, and about what you want in a bike. A quick look at the variety of bikes people use for touring indicates that bike choice is a very personal issue. Also, it may well be that the ideal touring bike is an unachievable goal; worthy, nonetheless.
