So the hub is dated 1980 S3C Sturmey Archer, you think that might be original hub?
Let's see...what appears to be a Dutch bike shop sticker on the fender (or is it Danish?), 1980 serial number and 1980 hub. Yep, I think it's the original hub.
Some things to note:
- A Canadian '80 would have had Rampar logos. This one has the traditional Raleigh Heron decals on the seattube and fork blades associated with markets outside of the US and Canada.
- Canadian '80 wouldn't have a chaincase.
- That underwhelming (but effective) Pletscher ESGE rear brake bridge came out in either '79 or '80 on all the Sports-based EA3-wheel models.
- No US/Canada/BMA-6 spec reflectors to be found
Appears to have a 23" seattube. Won't find that on US ladies' models.
- To this day, the Tourist DeLuxe - a modernized DL-1 - is offered by Raleigh of Denmark. Perhaps the DeLuxe name was used for a number of years prior.
