well, what i've been trying to determine is if your crank has molded spacers or add in's. is this what you meant by "studs"? my old X-1 (accushift plus) has molded spacers or "studs" and takes a regular old flat ring. but, there's no leeway for messing around with spacing like you're trying to do.
