It might not be your cup of tea, but there are some great rides around Southern Maine. I live just across the border in Durham, NH, but have done a few weekends taking the Amtrak Downeaster to Brunswick, and spending a few 60 mile days riding home. You could do it the other direction too, and take the train to Durham or Haverhill and ride home. The Greenway in Maine is pretty awesome, with a longish gravel section starting near Scarborough to past Kennebunk. You need to research before riding random roads in Maine ads there are lots of zero shoulder roads and rude pickup trucks. The coast from Portsmouth to Kittey, or beyond in NH to Seabrook, is a great ride, but best out of season.

I'm leaving this weekend for NYC on a 10 days ride sticking to the Greenway, which isn't the shortest path, but has interesting things to do at night for a credit card tour by old guys.

Good luck getting out, and have fun.
