To answer your question, yes, any 27" tires will work. They are pretty limited these days, as far as width. You will likely find 27 x 1 1/8", 27 x 1 1/4", 27 x 1 3/8" and all are fine. Prices seem to run from $12.99 on up.
Cool. That's what I was wondering. I wanted to find out before sinking the money into them. This bike should make good transportation for someone.
