GT didn't have any dedicated road models in 1992. What you are describing is a 1992 Tachyon. GT called introduced the 700D wheel and drop bar Tachyon in 1990 and called it a "Crossover" bicycle. They were meant to be on and off road bicycles, in the same vein as a Bianchi Volpe. To-day, we'd call them a hybrid. GT introduced their dedicated road bicycle line for the 1994 model year with the Edge (available in steel, aluminum and titanium versions), Fury, Rage, Strike and Force.

I just noticed that in my earlier post I stated that the Strike was available in the three different frame materials. That was incorrect. It was the Edge.
