My Toughroad also clears 50s, I even ran the Ventures. Both SG2 and OG actually. I currently run the 650b wheels on the Toughroad because it rides better on the road IMO.

My goal is *Road Plus*. I like the way smaller diameter tires handle on the road, but I do not like narrow road tires, full stop. This will pretty much be my road bike and the 650b will just allow me to enjoy the ride a lot more than a narrow 700c road wheel.

I like 29" tires for rough road/gravel specifically, but for primarily road riding not so much.
