Being higher up on a pickup, visibility is much better than in a Prius.
All the old farmers in pickups are the best where I live. I get the full lane and friendly waves from them all the time.

Thankfully I don't have problems with either when riding my bikes. The few I do have issues with are so rare, that I could never pin it on one type of vehicle or another.
