Miele, the home appliance brand, is a German company, dating back to 1899. They did manufacture bicycles and motorcycles from the mid-1920s to circa 1960. However, the Miele brand that turns out most frequently on this forum is the Canadian brand originally owned by the Guvin company of Mississauga. The first models were produced circa 1979 and the company survived into the mid-1990s. In 2002 the founder, Jim Miele, sold the brand name to Procycle, shortly before passing away in 2003.
