Bikes: Surly Long Haul Trucker set up for commuting and loaded touring, old Sekine road frame converted to fixed-gear, various beaters and weird bikes, waiting on the frame for my Surly Big Dummy build

found it. % is the modulus operator (in PHP anyways...) which is just technojumbo for the remainder of a long division operation. cog toothcount divided by the modulus of the gear ratio.

[cog] / %([ring] / [cog])
