you're feelings change when you need to pay for food, clothing, and shelter. or you could join a commune (which sounds like a better fit for you). for the rest of us, money has value.
the region i buy bikes in is very rural. people have bikes they are looking to get rid of. i do them a service. i haven't haggled on any of the prices. i give them what they are asking.
the region i sell the bikes is a campus. the demand for bikes that are pieces of **** is pretty high. i charge below market value, and no one has felt the need to haggle with me. they get a good deal and i get to eat.
