I bought my first road bike about 1975 at 15 years old, a Raleigh Record that I believe cost around $130. Compared to my buddies Varsity it was a featherweight as you can clearly see.
But then so was I! (still am too)
The shop gave me $65 for my mint condition Schwinn Stingray with the 5 speed Stik shift as trade in. A couple years later I got a job there.
