Equipping a steel track fork on a steel road bike? Good idea or bad?
Pros and cons?
Given the track fork comes with front brake hole.
Do track forks feel/ride different as opposed to a road bike fork? Track (bikes) forks are built with 'aerodynamics' and 'indoor riding' in mind, so the fork shouldnt/wouldn't translate well to 'road riding'..?
My only experience was when I had a frame with a damaged fork. Resorted to a unicrown donor fork (came from a Moser AX) which turned out to be a fine choice (Oria tubing). Fast forward, I came across a track fork (aero, light) from the same framebuilder, had it adjusted to fit the frame and rode it. My experience, it looked unique, looked fast..but I felt the road 10x more, and to be honest..I think it was a nicer ride with the Moser fork. Maybe it was that specific fork?
Not sure how to boil this down. Hopefully the veterans can chime in and help. Thank you!
