First Flat Of The Season

Well it was bound to happen. I finally bought new tires because I was worried about the old conti's. I was 5 mi from home and the front tire went (Shard of Glass). You know that sinking feeling when the bike starts handling like a wet noodle. Would not have been to bad, but I thought I was backed up by two spares. A Ha the first try and I realized that on of the tubes was from a previous flat. The couple watching me on their front porch must have thought I was nuts. Luckily the second spare was good. It's funny because usually when I have changed flats on the side of the road I get more smart remarks from passengers then when I am riding. This time a Suburban pulled up and as soon as I saw his hat I knew he was a cyclist. He was kind enough to see if I needed a ride. If he is reading this forum I say thanks again. That is the first time that I have had that happen to me. When I was finished I started back on my way and heard clapping. As I looked back it was the couple on the porch. For me it was anything, but a personal best for fixing a flat, but they seemed impressed. OK so I will get to the point. This is the first time that I did not get a flat at the absolute worst time. This was just nice for a change.

Anyone else have any posotive experiences?
