I must be missing something.
That said..by all means call the cops.
Cop: "..is this your bike?"
OP: "..ah..no"
Cop: "..do you know who's bike this is?"
OP: "..ah..no"
Cop: "..do you have any knowledge that this bike has been involved in a crime?"
OP: "..ah..well.. no"
Cop: "..why did you call us?"
OP: "..well..cuz it looks like it's been crashed or possibly stolen or damaged in an attempt to steal it..and it's on ebay!"
