Bikes: Cheltenham-Pedersen racer, Boulder F/S Paris-Roubaix, Varsity racer, '52 Christophe, '62 Continental, '92 Merckx, '75 Limongi, '76 Presto, '72 Gitane SC, '71 Schwinn SS, etc.

Weak points were crummy (narrow, soft and relatively heavy) Weinmann-made rims and the invariably-over-tight Atom hub bearings which promptly disintegrate with the added bearing adjustment "tension" caused by tightening the quick-release levers.

The front wheels also usually have the odd safety latches installed on the bearing cones, making them very less useful as parts to be used on any other bike.

I always downgrade my buy-in price on any of these bikes with such problematic wheels.

Note that the higher-end models typically have more-reputable hubs and rims (and without the safety latches on the front axle).
