Now say you put me on a TT or Tri bike with vastly different geometry that uses very different muscles than I have been training with on my roadbike. I may be more aero, but am I using my muscles as efficiently?

There are some experiments referenced to this is regards to seat height. Where it took athletes time to adjust to a more "efficient" higher seat height.

That's why you need to train on your tt bike at least once a week.
