Yeah, I'm not going to comfortable embarking on a 3k mile road trip with just that assurance, so Imma get under there and clean up the gunk, so that any new leaks will be a little more obvious, and then I'm going to keep some paper under the engine when it's in the garage, to make any drips obvious. *le sigh*

Ooof. I guess that's why I still change my own oil, even though it's cheaper to take it to the quickie lube.
