Maybe I've just been lucky, but every time I've had a Craigslist buyer say they'll come and look at something, they have. As far as I can recall, the first person to come out to look at something bought it every time too.
Mind you, I do sometimes have to exchange email with an awful lot of people (some of them not real) before one of them says they will come out to see it. A lot of people "ghost" on email - they ask a question or two, seem interested, but then disappear. That's OK for me as long as they haven't set a time to meet! So far so good.
