Rockshox SID SL rebuild
Back "in the day" I bought a new Gary Fisher Sugar 2. I rode it for about 5 years and then put it away, quit bicycling. After a few years of storage I decided to sell the bike.
Fast forwqrd to 2019, I decided that I wanted to get back into riding and wanted a Sugar framed Gary Fisher. After looking for a time I found a 1999 (?) Fisher Sugar 1 Saab Team edition that was in need of some TLC but in over all pretty good condition. Long story short, the front Rockshox SID SL Duel Air fork was collapsed, so I knew it would need at least a lower fork service. Took the fork apart, cleaned everything and put it back together. Pumped up the top, main air chamber and it held air, the lower negative chamber does not hold air, So.. I guess I'm gping to have to rebuild this fork. I can find kits to build 2000 - 2008 SID's but they are not entirely the same and I'm wondering if they 2000 - 2008 rebuild kit would have the right size O-Rings and other parts needed to make my 1999 fork serviceable again.
If there is someone out there that has some expeience with Gary Fisher, I'm trying to figure out when this bike was actually made, there are conflicting internet information about 1999 or 2000.
I've sesarched YouTube and there are a couple of videos concerning the SID shock but none are really comprehensive about rebuilding this particular fork. I have down loaded Sram PDF's and they are pretty good but the parts lists don't list part numbers to determin if parts from the 2000 - 2008 kit are the same or diffrent.
Appreciate any help offered....
