Clean Streak or similar degreaser into the shifter and then some wet spray lube. Work the shifters a bunch, while in the workstand. That often solves the problem. Assuming that's what the problem is.
The upshift lever on my left (front) Ergopower shifter on my Bianchi decided it had had enough and simply stopped working. It swings freely, not engaging the ratchet wheel at all. It's been at my LBS since before I left for Back East.
