The only time i have ever seen a Baltimore Oriole IRL i was crossing a busy road on a pedestrian crossing in rural CT. I was on foot. The oriole was lying in the road, right in the middle of the lane just off the pedestrian zebra. I stopped and stared at it because I recognized it from pictures I've seen. It was perfect. Dead, i assumed, from the fact that it was lying in the road, but it didn't look hurt. Quite irrationally, knowing it was dead but not wanting it to be crushed, i started to push it over to the side of the road. I moved it about an inch before it jumped up and flew away. Turned out it was just pining for the fjords or something.

I picked up a T-shirt from the side of the road a couple days ago. Looks new. Odd thing to lose....
